The present invention is designed to provide a button tack that can be quickly employed to replace missing apparel buttons or to close the gaps between existing buttons by having an element that may be passed through apparel material in a puncturing action.

Objects of the present invention:
- to provide a button tack that can be quickly employed to replace missing apparel buttons
- to provide a button tack having a button-like exterior surface
- to provide a button tack containing mating members that are releasably engaged by either a frictional or threaded bonding means
- to provide a button tack that may be produced in a plurality of sizes, materials and forms
- to provide a button tack having ornamental exterior surfaces that are releasably engageable
- to provide a button tack wherein one of the mating tack fasteners forms a receiver for the post of the other
