As attorney for the inventor of the innovative new Body Armor we are currently seeking manufacturing companies to license, purchase patent rights or enter into a royalty agreement for this timely invention. Interested parties can reach the attorney at the contact numbers listed at the bottom of this page.
The present invention bulletproofs the wearer by surrounding ones limb in a style whereby the user maintains a full range of motion due to the material flexure provided and enabled by space provided between ridged plates. The ridged plates of the present invention overlap one another horizontally and vertically that allows for flexibility and freedom of movement while presenting a grade of armor highly capable of defending against a ballistic impact.
Furthermore, the protective inserts can vary depending on user preference. Kevlar, silicon or boron carbide, ceramic, and steel tile are appropriate that can be used interchangeably depending on the level of protection desired against ballistics and shrapnel.
|
Objects of the present invention:
- to provide body armor for personnel comprising both a flexible and ridged ballistic material arranged in a matrix of horizontally and vertically overlapping pocketed plates.
- to provide body armor for personnel having pocketed areas for insertion therein of state of the art protective ballistic material.
- to provide body armor for personnel composed of protective inserts within pockets made of flexible ballistic resistant material, such as Kevlar, Spectra Shield or a combination thereof, including combinations of other materials, e.g., ceramics with Kevlar backing.
- to provide body armor for personnel specially structured to attach around ones limbs.
- to provide body armor attachable to existing body armors via hook and loop fasteners.
- to provide body armor for personnel having pockets provided inside the layer of flexible ballistic material to better retain held plates. These pockets can be made of elastic material, if desirable, to better retain the protective inserts.
- to provide body armor comprising a cape having a plurality of repositionable pockets for the placement therein of protective inserts.
- to provide body armor for personnel wherein said pockets can be placed on said cape to afford optimum protection. Also, selectively removed or added to adjust for arm/leg length and to eliminate duplication in body areas already protected by the armor system, e.g., armored vest. If the cape is worn, pockets with inserts can be removed from the arm sleeves to a point below which the cape does not cover. The cape and/or a sleeve can be sat on in a vehicle while continuing to wear the system on the part of the body or side that is the most exposed or vulnerable.
- to provide body armor for personnel wherein said pockets incorporate closure means including hook and loop and zipper, or elastic material.
- to provide body armor for personnel wherein said protective inserts are of varying size as needed, with appropriately sized pockets.
- to provide body armor for personnel wherein said protective inserts are Kevlar, silicon or boron carbide, ceramic tile, or steel that can be used interchangeably depending on the level of protection desired against ballistics and shrapnel.
