Objects of the present invention: to provide a pipe cutting apparatus having a collar with a cutting blade and electric motor for driving said collar to provide a pipe cutting apparatus that can be used in confined spaces to provide a collar comprising a housing with a rotatable cutting blade therein with exteriorly positioned gear teeth thereon to provide a gear mechanism comprising a housing having an electric motor driving a gear to provide a drive mechanism housing with spaced apart arms for receiving said collar housing to provide a drive mechanism wherein said electrically driven gear engages the exterior collar housing gear teeth to provide a drive mechanism wherein said driven gear can be a pair of spaced apart gears
